Lloyds Pharmacy in Winslow

IMPORTANT NOTICE for patients

We are aware of the current issues some patients are experiencing in obtaining their prescriptions from Lloyds Pharmacy in Winslow and we are experiencing a knock-on impact in terms of workload because of dealing with patient concerns and re-issuing prescriptions.  We are therefore taking this opportunity to explain our position and the options available to patients.

As a dispensing practice we are governed by strict dispensing rules which mean that we are unable to dispense medications to patients who live within 1 mile of a community pharmacy.  We understand that this seems unfair when the service being provided by the only local pharmacy is not meeting patients’ needs, however this is beyond our control.  We have raised our concerns via our commissioners who are escalating the matter. In the meantime, we have requested special dispensation to issue one off urgent medication during these exceptional circumstances; however, we do not have the capacity or authorisation to take over all dispensing. 

We have made our clinicians aware to avoid issuing acute prescriptions to Lloyds Pharmacy in Winslow wherever possible and until such time as this issue is resolved. This will enable you to collect your medication from any other pharmacy. 

We can change your nominated pharmacy from Lloyds in Winslow to an alternative provider or mark as “any pharmacy” which would enable you to obtain your prescription elsewhere. Please be aware that you will need to wait for a prescription to be dispensed when using the ‘Any Pharmacy’ service as it will not automatically be waiting when you arrive at your chosen pharmacy. The pharmacy will need to retrieve this from the online database and make it up whilst you wait. If you would like to have your nominated pharmacy changed from Lloyds for the time being, please contact our dispensary to let them know:
